Heading Hierarchy Demo: H1 and H2

Mission

Aboard the survey vessel Meridian, the crew is using Beacon Sight. The signal brief needs a title and two major mission sections that a rescuer can scan instantly.

What you'll see

A completed signal brief with one main heading (<h1>) and two section headings (<h2>).

Read the code

html
<h1>Meridian's Signal Brief</h1>
<h2>Power online: Beacon sight</h2>
<p>the Meridian crew can now spot a rescue signal above the city skyline.</p>
<h2>Next mission</h2>

<h1> names the whole page. Each <h2> starts a major section under that title.

Try the preview

Run the page. The mission title is the largest heading; each system or mission section is a smaller, clearly separate heading.

Checkpoint

Use the preview to connect each visible result to the HTML that created it. Try changing one <h2> to <h3>, rerun the preview to compare its size and place in the outline, then restore it.

Next

Continue to Exercise: Extend the Signal Brief. You will recreate the same idea from a smaller starter file.

Hint 1
1 / 1
HINT 1
